The Bowerbirds latest album Upper Air, on Dead Oceans records, is a grower. It is full of lonesome songs with mournful harmonies and simple instrumentation. It may take one or two complete spins, but after becoming familiar with the tracks and the direction each song takes you will likely enjoy their mellow indie-folk sound. At any rate, the 'birds are playing the 930 Listening Room in Louisville on November 16th. Get their catalog here and go see the show. It's suitable music for a Tuesday evening.
