Lone Mountain Band - Ten Mile Tennessee
This song is a little gem by the Lone Mountain Band I found years ago available as a free download from the download.com music section. It popped up on the Ipod shuffle recently and has since become a favorite. You can now download this song and many more for free from the band's website. This is what good ballad bluegrass sounds like folks. Great lyrics too, but I unfortunately don't know who penned it. Clue me in if you happen to know.

Hi David... we all know who really wrote that song....
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what anonymous meant, but Dave really did write this song years ago. I learned it in about 1980, and have sung it in several bands ever since. The Lone Mountain Band version, is the third arrangement of this song that I have recorded over the years, and I think the best. I'm proud that Dave let's me sing his song.
ReplyDeleteI loved it! My Momma lives in Ten Mile Tenn!!
ReplyDeleteThis is the best version of "Ten Mile, Tennesee" I've heard ! Thank you for recording it. My family has lived in Ten Mile Stand for almost 200 years. Here is a website that I'm starting that will show what Ten Mile looks like. Hope you can visit sometime. http://www.meigscohistoricalmuseum.org/History.html
